We also spent a big chunk of time playing hide and seek with one of your stuffed animals. I was doubtful when Dad offered this choice but it turned it to be so much fun. We would take turns either sitting with you in your room counting, or hiding the stuffed lamb. Then you would run out to the living room squealing and laughing, eyes darting around the room. You would check all the places we had already used as hiding spots first, wondering if you might find it in the same spot twice. Then when you finally spotted it you'd run and grab your lamb, holding it up for us to see!

A cold afternoon
Once in a while I feel like I am doing you a disservice by keeping you home instead of in daycare where you might have lots of activities and friends. Of course we provide you with so many adventures and as much variety as we can. Not to mention both your Mama and Daddy get to be home spending all day with you almost all the time during this transition in our lives. But I can't help doubting myself sometimes. It keeps me always reaching further and trying to do better for you. So on days like this I usually end up bombarding you with activities. Here's a look at yesterday afternoon:

This looks great. I think we're going to have to try Matchbox car painting in the near future.
ReplyDeleteLove Matchbox car painting! A popular one in my after school program, also, shaving cream works great with cars too (or whip cream, if fear of child eating it).
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of hide-and-seek with stuffed animals! I try to play it with Lorelei myself, but when it's just the two of us it's really challenging because I have approximately 2.5 seconds to run away from her and hide before she runs after me. I guess we'll have to try this one after Jason gets home from work!
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to say that I am so with you on not loving this wintery weather. January and February (and March, up here in the frozen tundra) are the hardest months for me and always have been - I'm just in such a slump. I hate being cold, hate shoveling, hate having hate hair...but seeing L and her dad making a snowman together helped to warm up this Grinchy heart of mine. Glad you're finding some joy, too.
